The difference between the FXP12D/14D and MED12/14 is the MED range passes the AS2773.
The main reason the FXP range does not pass the AS2773 standard is the following:
"The ultrasonic cleaner shall have systems to prevent it operating until the lid is closed or in 
place for lift off lids"

In the FXP range, there is nothing preventing the cleaner from operating when the lid is 
removed.

In the MED range, we have designed the internals to ensure the lid is closed before the 
ultrasonic cleaner will operate. This is from the addition of magnets within the PVC lid, a reed 
switch and relay within the circuitry. Almost everything else is the same, but this small change 
adds parts and labour that contribute to the price difference.
